A record label, Jamika Entertainment has said that its artistes are the future of Afrobeats and Afropop. The entertainment company is home to rising stars Sultan Afroboy, Yung Bos, Koredianx and Church of men.

The label’s head of operations, Mr Stanley Ihensekhien, who made this known to Friday Treat recently, said that the rise of Nigerian genre of music had attracted foreign attention with the Afrobeats and Afropop superstars, Wizkid and Burnaboy respectively.

He added that more talented acts like his were exerting efforts to continue to push the Nigerian entertainment brand to the world.

“We are now making a mark not just nationally but internationally, and our take on Afrobeats shows we are going to set the standard and be the future of Afropop.”

“The rise of Nigerian genre of music on the international stage has been immense since the turn of the decade, with Afrobeats and Afropop superstars like Wizkid and Burnaboy winning the prestigious Grammy award in 2021, Nigerian music can be said to be in its prime and a good advert of what the country can achieve on the world stage with homegrown talent.

“Many more talented acts are pushing to continue the trend of making the world feel the mesmerising sounds of Nigerian entertainment and none other than the artistes of Lagos based music label, Jamika Entertainment”, Stanley noted.

Speaking on the new release, ‘Wedding day’ from one of his artistes, Sultan featuring Skales, he said the company aimed for the song to do well nationally but had the pleasant surprise from listeners from around Africa and the world commending the artiste on how they loved it.

He said this shows the massive exposure and expansion the label has gotten and it had to do with the quality of our work and artistes’ talent.
